Welcome to my homepage! My name is Florian Echtler, and I'm a researcher in
human-computer interaction. I received my PhD in computer science from
TUM in December 2009 and after a PostDoc stay
at the Munich Univ. of Applied Sciences in 2010 and
a position as researcher at Siemens Corporate Technology in 2011, I am currently a visiting
professor for media informatics
at Regensburg University (as of Nov. 2012).
I have also occasionally been called a nerd, a geek and a
hacker1.
I consider the latter to be quite a compliment. :-)
On the pages listed on the left, you can find information on my research, publications and talks as well as some other projects, software I wrote etc.
In case you are wondering about the strange "Matrix Industries" branding: that was inspired by this book and by the late hacker group "L0pht Heavy Industries". There's no connection to the great movie with the same name (nor to the not-so-great sequels).
